Summer is the perfect time to inspire your child academically, athletically and socially. Auburn Youth Programs, through the Office of Professional & Continuing Education, offers over 100 summer camps to fill your child’s summer with building new skills, making friends and experiencing life at Auburn University. Summer camps kick off at the beginning of June, and continue to the end of July.

Summer programs are offered for kids of all ages, ranging from elementary school, to high school. Whether your child wants to be involved with the high school leadership conference, or join a sports team such as cheer or dance, Auburn has a youth program for everyone!

Interested in pursuing a career in research psychology, Auburn student, Kayla McInroy, decided to attend AU Brain Camp as a rising high school senior. AU Brain Camp allowed McInroy the opportunity to understand MRI research, participate in intellectual conversations and provide information about related majors.

"Because of AU Brain Camp, I met Dr. Jennifer Robinson and Dr. Jeffery Katz, who connected me to several graduate students once I started school. I currently work with these grad students to not only further my education, but help them with their theses by collecting data at the MRI Center,” said McInroy. “Through the program I have completed the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) as well as level one and two of MRI safety training.

Sarah Curry attended Architecture Camp in the summer of 2012. While browsing colleges and majors, Curry applied for camp scholarship through Dr. Carla Bell, hoping to further her passion of architecture.

“My overall experience was fantastic. I met so many people who would later (in college) become my best friends. That one-week camp was my first view of what Architecture school would be like,” said Curry. “Participating in the studio projects, typography studies, history lectures from Scott Finn and construction site visits, really made me feel like I was headed in the right direction.”

Auburn Youth Programs offers a diverse mix of camps that your child will not want to miss out on. Gaining hands-on experience, building relationships and avidly learning are only a few of the many advantages of registering.
