Downtown Holiday Ice Skating 2017

Whitney Morris
Aquatics & Special Events Coordinator

Friday, December 15  2017, is the opening day of the ice skating rink! The City of Auburn is bringing the holiday cheer to downtown Auburn. The 1200 – 1800 square foot rink will be set up in the Gay Street parking lot December 15 - 31.

(During heavy demand times skating will be limited to 30-minute sessions)

Hours of operation for the rink will be as follows:

Opening Weekend:
Friday, December 15: 6 - 9 p.m. (pending rink installation)
Saturday, December 16: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday, December 17: 1 - 7 p.m.
Weekdays (Monday - Thursday): 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Weekends (Friday and Saturday): 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sundays: 1 - 7 p.m.
Exceptions to these hours are:
Christmas Eve, December 24: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Christmas Day, December 25: Closed
December 26, City Holiday: 1 - 7 p.m.
New Year's Eve, December 31: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (pending rink breakdown)

The Gay Street parking lot will close December 15 at 5 a.m. for rink installation and, as the City finishes up, portions of the inner lot will open back up. The parking spaces closest to the Auburn Draft House will be open all day, along with all the spaces around City Hall, under the municipal parking deck and in the area behind Mellow Mushroom and Moe's Original BBQ. There will also be valet services available as well.

Skate sizes will be available from Youth 8s up to Men's 14 (and comparable Women's sizes). And although we hate to leave anyone out, we have to follow the policies of our partners in this endeavor (BH Skating/Chill Entertainment) and all skaters will need to be age 4 and older.

Skating is $5 per person and we will be hosting skaters in 30 minute increments.

See you downtown for ice skating!
