It appears weather will force us to postpone Make Music Alabama 2017. While the weather may have rained out our plans, it has not dampened our spirits. The showmust go on! Join us on August 22nd to break the Guinness Book of World Records for having the World's Largest Rock and Roll Band.

Please help spread the word and share this post!

Spicer's Music thanks everyone for their patience and dedication throughout this change of plans. We will continue to grow our band in number. August 22nd, here we come!

The second annual Make Music Day Alabama will be on August 22, at 6 p.m. at the Gay Street Municipal Parking Lot in downtown Auburn. Check out this video from last year's event.

Sponsorships are still available! Contact Tim Spicer or donate here.

Last year hundreds of music-loving participants showed up in hopes of beating the Guinness record for the world’s largest band, almost claiming the title. Coming close to beating the record set by China with 953 people rocking out together, Auburn’s first-ever Make Music Day saw an impressive 850 musical attendees. This year Spicer’s Music is confident they will beat the record.

“We’re excited to announce that this year’s song will be Sister Hazel’s ‘All for You’,” said Tim Spicer, owner and manager of Spicer’s Music. “Even better news, Sister Hazel is coming and they are going to perform with us!”

Spicer’s Music invites everyone from professional musicians to amateurs to join them for the Make Music Day Alabama event on June 20. Registration is free and open to all musicians. Spicer's Music is proud to be hosting the state of Alabama's largest city-wide Make Music Day celebration, and they want you to be a part of it. Anyone interested can register at www.spicersmusic.com to be a part of the band.

This local music festival will take place the day before the globally celebrated Make Music Day event - where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events occur around the world on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice.

The Make Music Day festival is the perfect excuse to stop in to a local music store for some gear or to go out and play–whether it’s for the first time or the thousandth. Music has been shown to strengthen social connectivity, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, stimulate memory and is integral to a well-rounded, enjoyable life. By participating in Make Music Day, Spicer’s Music and the Auburn-Opelika community encourage every form of music making.
