2019 Summer Camps at Auburn University

Do your kids have their summer plans mapped out? Are you ready to learn about global engagement? How about rocking out this summer? Auburn Youth Programs offers a variety of summer camps; from rock camp to wildlife camp your young one can learn new skills and make new friends on Auburn University's campus. 

Space is available in the following camps: 


 

Spicer's Rock Camp Pro: June 10-14, 2019 (Day Camp)

Session 1: 8 AM-12 PM

Session 2: 1 PM-5 PM

Spicer's Rock Camp Pro (ages 12-18) provides campers with an opportunity to receive instruction on their instrument of choice. Campers will also be introduced to different facets of what it takes to be a gigging musician such as songwriting and arrangement, band management, booking gigs, and logo/merch design. Instruction in singing, songwriting, and performing on stage are key components of the camp. Each week-long session concludes with a full-band performance on a professional stage with professional sound and lighting. Families are encouraged to attend!

Dance Intensive: June 17-21, 2019 (Day Camp)

Rising 6th-12th Grade

Auburn University Dance Faculty will host a 5-day dance intensive day camp this summer. Each day will be filled with classes in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and conditioning such as Pilates and Yoga. In addition; students will also learn choreography and improvise on their own to build choreography to be performed on the final day. All levels of students ages 11-19 are welcome! This is a rare opportunity for dancers in the Auburn community to train and perform in the beautiful new facilities at Auburn University.  A final performance will take place Friday evening and is open to the public. Building Construction: June 23-28, 2019

Rising 11th-12th Grade

The Building Construction camp hosted by the Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science is a week-long program geared toward rising 11th - 12th-grade students interested in the field of Construction Management. Participants will learn from the McWhorter School of Building Science faculty and current students about construction materials and methods and how to plan and safely manage a construction project. There will be opportunities for hands-on experience and each participant will utilize and practice their learned skills throughout the week while working together to build a construction project - a tiny house! 

GlobalConnect Camp: June 23-28, 2019

Rising 9th-12th Grade

GlobalConnect camp is designed to expose students to world perspective, international education, intercultural communication, and current affairs happenings. The goals of the camp are to educate students about global engagement and promote multicultural learning, respect and tolerance towards foreign population through practical activities. During the five (5) day camp, students study various selected countries, debunk myths surrounding some countries, cultural awareness, education, religion, politics, and related topics. Participants will get the opportunity to learn basic foreign languages, arts, how to prepare international food and collaborate among peers.

Wildlife Camp: July 7-12, 2019

Rising 9th-12th Grade

If you have an interest in wildlife management, or just in being outside and learning about nature, you’re at the right place. Our camp is an all-inclusive 5-day experience offered within the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences (SFWS). The camp is an exciting mix of hands-on activities and outdoor exploration. Campers will learn fundamental concepts, issues, and concerns related to wildlife food, history of wildlife conservation in North America, and much more. Campers will also gain exposure to data analysis tools commonly used in wildlife sciences.

Outdoor Adventure Camp: July 7-12, 2019

Rising 6th-8th Grade

Are you ready for a Challenge? Then join us for a brand new camp designed to take middle school campers to new heights! Outdoor Adventure Camp will provide campers with the experience of a lifetime while participating in high and low ropes course elements, whitewater rafting, canoeing, archery, zip lining, and hiking.

Musical Theatre Camp: July 7-12, 2019

Rising 9th-12th Grade

Musical Theatre Camp at Auburn University is an innovative, intensive week-long residential workshop designed for music, theatre, dance, and show choir students who are interested in developing their skills on stage. Students will participate in workshops, masterclasses, private lessons, and rehearsals with our skilled Department of Theatre faculty and staff. The week culminates in a Friday morning performance that will highlight scenes rehearsed during the week for family and friends!
