2016 Stars of the Industry Awards

The winners of the 2016 Stars of the Industry awards were announced Monday, September 26 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa at the Convention Center. The Stars of the Industry is the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance's annual awards dinner honoring Alabama's restaurant, lodging, and tourism industry.
There were a couple of familiar faces there… Abe Blackwell (The Hotel at Auburn University), Caleb Fischer and David Bancroft (Acre) all came home with Stars Awards to celebrate their hospitality and culinary skills.
- Abe Blackwell, AUHCC, was awarded for Front of the House Hospitality Employee of the Year
- Caleb Fischer, Acre, was awarded for Chef of the Year
- David Bancroft, Acre, was awarded for Restaurateur of the Year
Congrats Fellas! We always knew you rocked and we love to see you getting recognized in such a big way!
The Stars awards are peer-nominated and winners are selected by the Stars committee and ARHA's board of directors. There were over 90 nominations submitted and the winners in each of the seventeen categories were presented with trophies by ARHA Board Chairman Brandt Tucker.
The Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance is the state's largest trade association representing the lodging, foodservice, and tourism industries. The Alliance offers members lobbying support on legislative issues, cost-saving benefits, information-services and training aids. The Alliance is located in Montgomery, AL. and has over 1,200 members.
