Girls in Aviation Day returns to the AUO Airport

M. A. Hughes | Auburn-Opelika Tourism

Now in its second year, Girls in Aviation Day is returning to the Auburn University Regional Airport on October 19, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Girls in Aviation Day is hosted by the Auburn University Aviation Center and the War Eagle Chapter of Women in Aviation. The purpose of the event is to “inspire passion, exploration, learning and excitement of aviation and aerospace to children in the local community.” The event is focused on girls in grades K-12; however, children of all ages and genders are welcome and encouraged to attend.

In addition to a plethora of exciting activities, the event will feature aviation venders and organizations, as well as airplanes on display and plenty of food trucks. Participants will have the ability to explore the world of aviation and learn about all the different career possibilities open to them.

Children must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times during the event.
