A guide to all the A-Day happenings in Auburn-Opelika

A-Day Weekend is right around the corner and that means there is a lot to do in Auburn-Opelika! Check out these AUsome events that surround the A-Day game coming up on Saturday, April 9. War Eagle!

 

THURSDAY

Downtown Auburn Sip and Shop | 4-8 p.m. | Downtown Auburn

In town for the game a little early? Explore downtown Auburn for the Sip and Shop event. Downtown retailers will be offering extended shopping hours, discounts, drinks, and more. Swag bags will be given to the first 50 people in the door. This event is free and open to the public.

FRIDAY

Wing Fling | 4 p.m. | Southeastern Raptor Center

The Wing Fling show at the Southeastern Raptor Center allows audience members to see hawks, falcons, eagles, and other birds of prey free-flown from towers and around the amphitheater. The show includes flights and interesting facts about the natural history, conservation, and rehabilitation of these birds. A show for all ages, all birds used in the programs are permanent residents that are non-releasable due to prior injuries or human imprinting. Tickets for the event are $8 and can be purchased in advance here.

AU Baseball vs. Vanderbilt | 6 p.m. | Plainsman Park

Start the game day weekend off and get your Auburn Spirit going by watching the AU Baseball team take on Vanderbilt in Plainsman Park. Tickets can be purchased here.

Sundilla presents Griffin House in concert | 7:30- 9:40 p.m. | Pebble Hill

Music junkies and concert-goers alike, enjoy some sports and performance entertainment in the same weekend. This “rising star” in the music industry will be gracing the stage of Pebble Hill and is a perfect way to enjoy some extra time in the Loveliest Village. Tickets for the concert can be purchased online.

Billy Allen and The Pollies at Standard Deluxe | 7:30 p.m. | Standard Deluxe

Dinner and a show to fill your time prior to the game day? Head out to the Standard Deluxe in Waverly to see Billy Allen and The Pollies live in the Little House. Performing songs from their newest collaborative album, Billy Allen and The Pollies are sure to be a hit. The gates will open at 5 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m. Click here for tickets and more information.

SATURDAY  

Wing Fling | 10 a.m. | Southeastern Raptor Center

Didn't get the chance to see the show on Friday? Tiger Walk | 11:25 a.m. | Donahue Drive

Each game day, including A-Day, the Tigers walk from the Athletics Complex down Donahue Drive to Jordan-Hare Stadium. The team doesn't make the walk alone, however; instead, they are cheered on by the thousands of Auburn fans who line the street and, in the process, create one of the greatest scenes in college football. Don’t miss out on your chance to cheer on the Tigers before each game!

Auburn Football A-Day Game Kickoff | 1 p.m. | Jordan-Hare Stadium  

The moment you have all been waiting for, the A-Day Game. Check out the 2022 edition of the Auburn football team at spring practice. This is the first opportunity fans will have to get a look at the 2022 football team. Stadium gates will open at 11 a.m. and tickets for the scrimmage can be purchased here.

AU Baseball vs Vanderbilt | 4 p.m. | Plainsman Park

Keep that game day feeling and Auburn Spirit going by watching the AU Baseball team take on Vanderbilt in Plainsman Park. Tickets can be purchased here.

An Evening with Tim Easton | 7 p.m. | The Sound Wall

American Songwriter Tim Easton will be gracing Opelika, Alabama with his American folk music. Performing at The Sound Wall, An Evening with Tim Easton is the perfect break to your sports-packed weekend. Don’t miss this one-time opportunity to see the Canadian native live. SUNDAY

AU Baseball vs Vanderbilt | 1 p.m. | Plainsman Park

Finishing the weekend off with the last game in the AU Baseball vs Vanderbilt Auburn Spirit going by watching the AU Baseball team take on Vanderbilt in Plainsman Park. Tickets can be purchased here.

Film on Second Sunday | 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. | Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art

What better way to end a sports-packed weekend than sitting back and enjoying the Film on Second Sunday event in the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art theatre. This month’s film will be “What You Gonna Do When The World’s On Fire.” On top of catching the film, check out the museum. Admission is free and they are open all weekend 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
