If liquor isn’t your thing, feel free to walk next door to Red Clay Brewing Company! They are a brewery and taproom that also offer tours and tastings. During their extensive tour, you can expect a tasting of 6 of their in-house beers, a private tour, a knowledgeable staff, and a fantastic atmosphere.

Think we forgot about the wine fanatics? Nope! Cerulean Tasting Room is the perfect spot to grab a glass, bottle, or flight of wine. The premier tasting room and wine shop has a covered patio, and all the wine combinations you could think of. Order the “I Can’t Decide” flight and get a sparkling, white, and red wine flight hand-picked by the bartender!

Chewacla State Park facilities include a swimming area, lake, plenty of hiking and mountain trails, and a picnic area with tables and grills. The perfect day trip with Dad is just a short drive from Auburn University!

If you love the outdoors…but not that kind of outdoors, have a fun-filled day of golfing on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Grand National. The three extensive 18-hole courses are located on 600-acre Lake Saugahatchee and are great for that quality outside time that doesn’t involve too much nature.

Outside just simply not your thing? Get the stress of the work week out with some ax throwing. In the heart of downtown Opelika, Axe Marks the Spot will open at any hour just for you! All you have to do is call and set up a reservation and they will make it happen.

Dinner time

Famous brunch spot, The Hound, is family-owned and features over-the-top American classics. Brunch is Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Can’t make those times? Fear not! Their lunch and dinner menus are just as fantastic along with their cocktails, whiskey list, draft beer, and wine!

In Downtown Auburn, Tacorita is the spot for a wide range of tacos, appetizers, and hand-crafted margaritas. Head on over to Opelika for the most unique dining experience at Zazu Gastropub.
