Raise your glass to the newest addition to the Auburn-Opelika nightlife scene: Session Cocktails. The eclectic style, carefully curated drinks, and exceptional hospitality sets the tone for an elevated experience. When guests arrive, they are greeted by a host who ensures there's a spot for the party. Session can accommodate about 80 guests at a time. You will then be greeted by your waiter/waitress at the table, and served drinks in a timely manner. Whether you are wanting to celebrate with friends or simply grab a drink after work, Session is your go-to for any occasion.
Session has been a dream for owner Hunter Wiggins since he was young. The cocktail bar was inspired by Wiggins’ travels to different bars across the country, from New Orleans to Colorado. He has worked in the bar scene since he was 19, where he learned what it took to open his dream bar.
“What was really appealing about bartending was how every time you made a cocktail for someone, and you slid it across the table, you could see the genuine satisfaction and reaction when they take that first sip,” Wiggins said.
Wiggins is thrilled about the recent opening of his second location in downtown Auburn, given the success of the Tuscaloosa location. He said the the V.I.P. hospitality experience makes the cocktail bar the success that it is. Session operates on a five-step process to maintain the V.I.P. experience.

- Identifying how many people are in your party so you will be seated correctly
- Service directly to your table
- Consistent drinks delivered to you promptly
- Ensuring the customers know their visit was appreciated when they leave
The dim lighting, velvet couches, cozy booths, barstools, and tables for two make Session easily able to accommodate any party or occassion.
Session focuses on modern classic cocktails. The top-selling cocktails are the Old Fashioned, Teatime, and Cocktail for a Cause. Every month, Session partners with a different local charity and creates a “Cocktail for a Cause” that guests can order. The proceeds raised are donated directly to the featured charity. In addition, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will match Session’s donation. Through this program, Session Cocktail has been able to impact the community in more ways than just making signature drinks.
