April 27,2011, marks the day a series of catastrophic tornadoes roared through the state of Alabama, taking countless lives and homes. Seeing the devastation in his home state, two-sport legend Bo Jackson embarked on a bicycle ride that is now an annual event.

Join Bo Jackson as he lends the state of Alabama a helping hand at the 6th annual Bo Bikes Bama charity ride. The ride is led by Jackson, who raises money every year for the Alabama Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund. The fund provides the emergency resources and preparedness for disasters in the state of Alabama, including the construction of community storm shelters.

For the sixth year, Jackson will lead Bo Bikes Bama on Saturday morning, April 29. He hopes to inspire Alabamians as they commence on a 20-mile or 60-mile ride. Both routes take riders through Auburn University’s campus, with the 60-mile route passing through Tuskegee and Macon County.

“The reason for this ride is for state unity and to pay homage to the great Alabamians who lost their lives on April 27th, 2011,” Jackson said. “I am my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper.”

The will be a silent auction the evening before the ride, hosted at the Red Barn at Ag Heritage Park, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets include hors d’ oeuvres, wine and beer. Tickets, purchases and donations are all tax deductible and support the Alabama Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund.

All riders will receive a free Bo Bikes Bama t-shirt, wristband, jersey number to wear while riding, mechanical support at rest stops and a meal after completing the ride.

Additional perks and access is available through the VIP Experience. This package is limited to 10 riders and includes a practice ride with Bo, brunch, professional pictures and more. Visit https://bobikesbama.com/the-ride/vip-experience/register/ for VIP registration. Registration closes on March 31 at noon CST.
