More About Matt Prater:

Ten years, thousands of live shows and four recording projects ago, Matt Prater wrote his first song. Prater, a singer-songwriter, is the perfect blend of country, folk, and bluegrass and remains relevant to all generations.

Son to a cattle farmer in north Alabama who had a passion for music, simple living, hard work, and were honest, God-fearing folk. It's no surprise that Matt draws upon his family and his upbringing as a source of inspiration for many of his songs. Matt has been surrounded by music and musicians his entire life, but only started writing and performing live in 2006.

Matt keeps a full schedule independently touring songwriter showcases, music venues, festivals, such as the Frank Brown International Songwriter Festival, and radio shows. He has been included in songwriter rounds with #1 hit writers and top-shelf performers and has opened shows featuring artists such as Mo Pitney, Colt Ford, The Henningsens, and Shenandoah.

Living in the Heart of Dixie and the Americana Music Triangle, Matt appears regularly at venues all over "The Hit Recording Capitol of the World," Muscle Shoals, AL, and Nashville's famous Bluebird Café, The Nashville Palace, and Nashville's Honky Tonk Tuesday Nights.
