20 miles Cusseta Commuter
34 miles Twin Silos Shuttle
60 miles Lafayette Short Line
104 miles Johnny Ray Century
66 miles Dirty 66 (gravel)

The Johnny Ray Century returns as a member of the Alabama Backroads Century series for 2020. The Johnny Ray Century began amid a push for a rail-to-trail between Opelika and Roanoke, a rail line heavily used by the train engineer Johnny Ray.

JRC riders will tour the true backroads of rural Lee, Chambers, and Randolph Counties of East Alabama. Adventurous gravel cyclists will be treated to some beautiful world-class gravel Chambers County dirt roads. Otherwise, road surfaces vary from asphalt to chipseal.

Every year the Johnny Ray Century selects a designated charity to sponsor. The club is again excited to work with the Davis Phinney Foundation, to support its mission with Parkinson's. 2017 was a rebuilding year for the JRC with the Opelika Bicycling Advisory Committee picking up the reigns. While the focus was on the transition we still managed to raise $1095 for DPF. In 2016 we raised $7,286. In 2015 we set a record raising $9000 for the Davis Phinney Foundation. In 2014 we raised $7,719.52. In 2013 we raised $6,682.02.  In 2012 it was $5,500.  In 2010 and 2011 our beneficiary was been Parkinson Association of Alabama. In 2011 the club raised $5,900 and in 2010 raised $5,700 for the Parkinson Association of Alabama. From 2007 to 2009, the Northwest Parkinson's Foundation was the club's charity. In 2009 the club donated $4,000, in 2008 we donated $3,000, and in 2007 we donated $2,400. In 2006 & earlier we used century profits to buy bicycles from The Bike Shop in Auburn for children at Christmas through the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots program administered by the City of Auburn Fire Division.
