Time: 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM

Come join the Office of Sustainability and the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center for Plant Ahead: A Tree Planting Event on January 25 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Volunteers are invited to come plant shortleaf pine trees and other trees native to Alabama at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center. Together, we will learn about forestry practices, Alabama’s native flora, and how to properly plant trees while enjoying the beautiful outdoor scenery and wildlife of the preserve.

Work will be physical and you should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring your water bottle. Additionally, please bring gloves, pruners, and lopping shears if you have them. Please sign up below so we can ensure we have enough extra tools & gloves. Waivers will be signed on-site.

Meet at the parking lot at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center at 2:30 PM. If you are running late, please follow the path or road to the pavilion. There will be directional signs from there to the planting site. If we need to change to the rain date (February 22nd at the same time) we will notify you on January 24th through GivePulse, so please register prior to the event. Prior registration is requested to help with communications, but not required. If you need transportation to the event, please contact the Office of Sustainability about a shuttle to the KPNC.

Please register on the GivePulse prior to the event
