The unveiling of a statue of former Auburn baseball star, Frank Thomas, is set to be held outside of Plainsman Park on April 8th!

Thomas played baseball at Auburn from 1987-1989, setting several records for the program during his time there. After his career as a double-sport athelete (also serving as tight end on the AU football team), Thomas was selected as number 9 of the 1989 MLB draft for the Chicago White Sox. He went on in his 19 year career to also play for both the Toronto Bluejays and Oakland Athletics. He was also named MLB Most Valuable Player twice and inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Thomas will join a star-studded lineup of eight other staues across Auburn University's campus. Alongside him are Ralph 'Shug' Jordan, Cliff Hare, Pat Dye, Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson, Cam Newton, and Charles Barkley.

The unveiling ceremony will be held on the exterior of the park and is a free event to attend.
