The North American Open Master's (NAOM) is a professional tree climbing competition for climbers. It provides a competitive but educational opportunity for working arborists in North America to demonstrate and exchange new climbing techniques and equipment, as well as, safe work practices. The climbers will compete in a variety of events ranging from speed climbs, speed descent, rescue climbing and more. The competitors are all professionals and have to compete in other ISA sanctioned competitions to qualify for this event.
The event will begin on Thursday 5/25 with a day of demonstrations and educational workshops and will be open to the public and AU students to attend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be competition days for the professionals, and the public will be invited to watch as they climb.
