The Third Poetry Series will be hosted at Pebble Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The readings will be by Patricia Foster, author of Written in the Sky: Lessons of a Southern Daughter. 

The program will begin at 4:00 p.m. and a reception will follow. Books will be available for purchase from Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers

Patricia Foster is professor emerita at the University of Iowa’s MFA Program in Nonfiction, where she taught for twenty-five years. She is the author of numerous books, including Girl from Soldier Creek, Just Beneath My Skin, and All the Lost Girls: Confessions of a Southern Daughter.

Dr. Richard Kent Evans, a 2011 graduate of Auburn University, has been appointed Executive Director of the Alabama Writers’ Forum, a partnership program of the Alabama State Council on the Arts. Founded in 1993 to recognize Alabama’s strong literary tradition, the Alabama Writers’ Forum encourages community-based programs reflecting a commitment to and support of established, emerging, and student writers.

Join them for the reception following the reading to meet and welcome Dr. Evans!
