There is nothing better than a fall weekend in Auburn. From Tiger Walk to Toomer's Corner, our fans and traditions make Auburn's gameday experience the best in college football. An integral part of that experience is the Auburn tailgating scene. The Auburn Family takes tailgating to a whole new level. Our campus is open for tailgating after 4 p.m. on Fridays.

Reserving tailgating spots in grass areas using stakes, ropes, ribbons, tape, chairs, tables, tents, vehicles or other items is allowed after 4 p.m. on Fridays. Items found before then are subject to removal without notice or reimbursement. It is unlawful to use any University utilities.

The hayfields on Donahue Drive will open for free, public RV parking at 2 p.m. on Fridays prior to home games. Spots are first-come, first-served. The hayfields close at 4 p.m. on Sundays following each home game.

Biggio Drive
70 tailgating spots are offered on Biggio Drive outside the Intramural Field fence. The reserved spots are offered free of charge. These spots do not include parking spaces, only the lot on which to tailgate. Please note, tailgating is not allowed on the Intramural Fields.

Home Plate Tailgate
The Home Plate Tailgate is a new gameday tailgate area in the Plainsman Park parking lot. The space is open to the public and creates a tailgating destination close to the action of Jordan-Hare Stadium. On the corner of Heisman and Donahue Dr., the location provides fans all the action of Tiger Walk and the Spirit March. It is also in close proximity to the Verizon Autograph Tent and the Tiger Tailgate Pregame Show near the campus green space.

The Home Plate Tailgate will open four hours prior to kickoff, with a sound stage and local, live entertainment each week. The tailgate will feature TVs for live college football game viewing and tailgate games. Once in the area, fans will have access to restrooms and tents for shade. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Admission to the area is $5, and tickets may be purchased at the Plainsman Park box office.

Tailgate at the Park
Parking packages are available to all Auburn fans at Ag Heritage. Fans seeking hassle-free tailgating can purchase season packages featuring parking, tents, and tables.

Weagle Woods
Thanks to the cooperation of the School of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences, a new free tailgating area has opened up behind the Forestry & Wildlife building at the corner of South Donahue and Lem Morrison Drive. The School of Forestry has partially cleared a wooded area there for a longleaf pine tree reforestation project. "Weagle Woods" will offer tailgaters a prime location among the pine trees just a short walk from Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Tailgate Drop-Off

Each game day, fans will have the opportunity to unload their vehicles in one of five designated locations:

  • Transportation Tech Center (Magnolia Avenue)
  • Goodwin Music Hall (Samford Avenue)
  • Mell Street Station (Mell Street)
  • Intramural Fields (Biggio Drive)
  • Facilities Division (Samford Avenue)

Tents with stakes shorter than 12-inches may be set up after 4 p.m. on Fridays. Permits are required for any tent with stakes that are 12-inches or longer. Permit requests are handled online or (334) 844-4619.

Special permits are required for outdoor entertainment events with amplified sound. Permit requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance and must include a list of required information for the request to be approved. Requests should be made to (334) 844-4619. Special event permits are not site reservations.

Grills / Generators

Grills and generators are not allowed within 50 feet of campus buildings or in other designated no-grill areas. All fires must be contained within grills or other containers designed specifically for that purpose. Extinguish charcoal fires thoroughly with water before leaving them unattended. Place extinguished charcoal in designated containers or remove it from campus for disposal. Do not dump charcoal on the ground or in dumpsters. Tailgating and grilling are not allowed in the parking decks.

When operating generators, be mindful of other tailgaters around you. If you are not using a low decibel invertor generator, ensure that noise from your generator is not impacting others around you. All generators and fuel should be kept at a safe distance from cooking appliances. Never operate under wet conditions. Take precautions to protect your generator and electrical cords from exposure to rain and puddles.

See more information on fire safety here.

Please keep campus beautiful by placing all trash and recycling in the proper bins located throughout the university tailgate areas, RV lots, and stadium for your convenience. Litter and recycling bags will also be distributed in tailgate areas and RV lots to help keep the university litter-free. Please see the Gameday map for trash and recycling locations.

Auburn discourages the use of Glass Containers on campus.
