SPRING BOOGIE

Springtime in Auburn-Opelika comes alive with The Old 280 Boogie, a vibrant music and arts festival held on the picturesque grounds of Standard Deluxe in Waverly, Alabama. Just a short drive from Auburn, this beloved event, now held twice a year, originally began as a celebration of the 2001 rerouting of U.S. Highway 280, which preserved Waverly's small-town charm. Locals took to the streets to celebrate, and thus, the Boogie was born.

Today, the festival is a must-attend event that draws hundreds of attendees eager to enjoy the perfect April weather. Festival-goers can relax on blankets, pack coolers (no glass bottles allowed), and soak in a funky mix of acoustic, soulful, and bluegrass tunes from talented bands. The Boogie also features local vendors offering a delightful array of food, jewelry, and pottery, with many visitors leaving with a coveted Standard Deluxe t-shirt or print as a keepsake.

This multi-cultural event captures the essence of Southern charm and community spirit, making it a standout tradition in the region. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Old 280 Boogie offers an unforgettable experience that perfectly embodies the creative and welcoming spirit of Waverly.
