67TH ANNUAL FREEDOM CELEBRATION - July 3

Celebrate Independence Day with Opelika Parks and Recreation on July 3, 2019, at Opelika High School. Enjoy a parachute display by the Silver Wings, inflatable games, hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn, musical entertainment by Route 66 and activities for the whole family. 

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the Silver Wings Parachute Demonstartion Team kicking off the festivities at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow at dark.

The annual Freedom Celebration is free to attend and is located at Opelika High School at 1700 Lafayette Parkway in Opelika. 

 

AUBURN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION - July 4

Celebrate Independence Day with the Auburn community, Auburn Parks and Recreation and Briggs and Stratton! Enjoy great food, live music, children’s activities and amazing fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

The free celebration will take place at Duck Samford Park, behind the home side of Duck Samford Football Stadium, located at 1840 E. Glenn Ave. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

This year’s musical guests include DJ K. Cole and band, Open the Skye. Children can enjoy free inflatables and the Cyber Game Truck. There will be several food vendors on site with options for purchase.

Please remember, the parking lot off Airport Road, which is shared between the Bo Cavin fields and the new Duck fields, will be closed to the public during the event to accommodate for our fireworks shoot site. However, the parking lot off East University Drive next to the Old Duck fields will be open to the public for parking.

The rain date is Friday, July 5 with fireworks only at 9 p.m.
