Get ready to hop into the Easter weekend! The Auburn-Opelika area is full of events your entire family will enjoy.

Kick off your Easter celebration with a flashlight egg hunt in the Moore Stadium in Opelika this Friday, March 30. This egg hunt will be kicking off at 7:30 p.m. and your kids will not want to miss it. Third through fifth grade students are invited to participate in this egg hunt as they search the area for special prizes and a golden egg using flashlights. This Easter egg hunt is free to attend.

On Friday, March 30, you can also head over to the Opelika SportsPlex for an underwater Easter egg hunt! Children ages 6 to 10 can participate. The egg hunt will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Eggs will be placed in varying depths of water to accommodate swimmers of all levels of difficulty and the eggs will be weighted. Participants will be able to exchange their eggs for special Easter treats after the hunt concludes. The hunt is free to members of the SportsPlex and $3 for non-members.

The 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Kiesel Park will be Saturday March 31, 2018, starting at 10:30 a.m.. Over 35,000 eggs are hidden over a 4-acre area. There are four separate brackets by ages: 3 and under, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. There will be music, drinks, balloons, and an opportunity for pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Also on March 31, will be Easter on the Square in downtown Opelika! This is a free event for children 2nd grade and younger. There will be an Easter Bonnet contest, parade, and a Super Spectacular Egg Hunt.

On Easter morning enjoy an Easter brunch meal at a couple of our local area restaurants. The menu features include crab legs, oysters, an omelet station, prime rib, cheese grits, and much more. Brunch is $45 for adults and $19 for children ages 6 – 12.

The Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel at Grand National will also be hosting an Easter brunch. Their menu features chilled and hot selections, chef-attended stations and dessert.
