Auburn senior, Kasey Cooper, will be playing in a doubleheader exhibition series at Jane B. Moore on July 22, 2017, with the USA Softball Women’s National Team. Cooper is a two-time NFCA All-American from Dothan, Alabama, and was SEC player of the year in 2016.

The recently announced schedule features a four-city exhibition tour in the United States. The team will begin their tour in Irvine, California, with the 2017 season consisting of eight events. The team has their eye on the prize, qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games!

"We are preparing as a team for what will be a challenging Pan American/World Championship Qualifier in the Dominican Republic,” said USA Softball Women's National Team Head Coach Ken Eriksen. “Also, to have the opportunity to go to Japan early in the summer and then to have the lineup of the world’s best teams in Oklahoma City for the World Cup of Softball will definitely challenge Team USA right from the start."

Team USA will make their first international debut to Tokyo, where they will play the current number one team, Japan, at the Japan All-Star Series June 23-25. The games will be held at Shellcom Sendai, in Izumi-ku, Sendai and Yokohama Stadium, in Naka Ward, Yokohama.

The team will return to the United States for the World Cup of Softball XII, which is July 5-9 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The players are thrilled to travel and experience the towns hosting tours.

"I’m so excited to start out the summer in Southern California where I grew up playing the game,” said WNT outfielder Janie Takeda. “Meeting new people all over the country at every tour stop is one of my favorite parts about playing for USA Softball.”
