Piccolo, the area’s only authentic Jazz lounge, will celebrate its ninth birthday this weekend, with two days of fun-filled events.

Beginning Friday, Aug. 10, patrons can enjoy Piccolo’s first Sunset Celebration, with live music and wine specials on the patio from 5 p.m. until sunset. When the sun sets behind Samford Hall at 7:31, Piccolo will offer a complementary sparkling wine tasting. One of Auburn’s favorite live bands, Kidd Blue, will then begin inside, with $5 glasses of wine, cocktails and draft beer. At 9:30, join in singing Happy Birthday to Piccolo with a complementary champagne toast and cake.

The fun continues on Saturday, with a jazz jam session with many of the artists who have played at Piccolo throughout the years. Guests can enjoy live jazz from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., with $5 glasses of wine, cocktails and draft beer. At 9:30, join in singing Happy Birthday to Piccolo with a complementary champagne toast and cake.

“Piccolo is a unique bar in our area, and it’s only fitting that we celebrate its birthday in style,” said Hans van der Reijden, Managing Director of The Hotel at Auburn University. “We invite everyone to come enjoy a cocktail, music, and cake on this special occasion.”

Piccolo opened in 2009 as an authentic jazz lounge, featuring jazz musicians from across the state. The bar and lounge is a key part of A?T and has become a destination of its own within Auburn. Rated the number one bar by Alabama Magazine in 2014 and 2015, the bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail before dinner or to have a quick bite from the bar menu. A selection of 10 craft beers on tap and wines by the glass is served at the bar.

Leather club chairs, a cozy fireplace, and comfy banquettes serve as a relaxing getaway in a comfortable, clubby environment.
