Hiztorical Vision Productions, an Auburn-Opelika-based nonprofit, will screen one of their latest award-winning short films, "Hobson City: From Peril to Promise," highlighting Alabama's first African American municipality. The film covers inspiring events in the town's history, such as the incorporation of the city, the establishment of churches and schools, and the development of thriving businesses. After the film screening, the audience will be provided the opportunity to ask questions to a native, advocate, and Mayor of Hobson City, Alberta McCrory, during the discussion portion of the event. This event will be educational and uplifting, which will help bring awareness to some of Alabama's hidden gems.
