The Sound Wall is thrilled to welcome renowned New Orleans-based jazz pianist VICTOR “RED” ATKINS and his band to Opelika for the fourth installment of The Sound Wall Jazz Series, March 21-23, 2024.

Performing the music of New Orleans’ Modern Masters, Atkins will bring with him some of the city’s top players, including Derek Douget on saxophone, Adonis Rose on drums, and Jason Stewart on bass. Atkins has spent 20 years as a pianist and staff arranger for the Grammy Award-winning New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO).

He has toured the world with artists such as the Elvin Jones Jazz Machine, Mark Whitfield, and Nnenna Freelon, among others. Atkins is a Selma native who spent two years at Auburn University before transferring to Berklee College of Music in Boston.
