COSAM Outreach is inviting you to join their latest Science Pub at Red Clay Brewery on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. The co-authors of “Roadside Geology of Alabama,” Dr. Mark Steltenpohl, AU Department of Geosciences, and Laura Steltenpohl will uncover the hidden gems of Alabama's natural history that lie right beneath our feet.

Alabama’s geologic past gave rise to the diverse landscapes that are responsible for a chart-topping number of species. Learn about Alabama’s T-rex (Appalachiosaurus), amber-encased insects, and rocks that record violent volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and even a meteor impact that left a 5-mile-wide crater in the middle of the state. Signed copies of their book will be available for purchase.
