A-Day Weekend is right around the corner and that means there is a lot to do in Auburn-Opelika! Check out these AUsome events that surround the A-Day game coming up on Saturday, April 8. War Eagle!
THURSDAY
AU Baseball vs Texas A&M | 7 p.m. | Plainsman Park
Start the game day weekend off and get your Auburn Spirit going by watching the AU Baseball team take on Texas A&M in Plainsman Park. Tickets can be purchased here.
Flashlight Egg Hunt | 7:30 p.m. | Opelika SportsPlex Amphitheater
Hunt for eggs in the dark! Bring a flashlight and a basket to look for special prizes and golden eggs. This event is for 3rd-5th graders and is free and open to the public.
FRIDAY
AU Men's Tennis vs Arkansas | 3 p.m. | Yarbrough Tennis Center
Continue the competitiveness of the weekend by cheering on the Auburn Men's Tennis team against Arkansas at the Yarbrough Tennis Center!
Wing Fling | 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. | Auburn Raptor Center
One of Auburn's most popular programs - The Wing Fling - offers fans the opportunity to see a raptor show where they will experience birds of prey eye-to-eye and watch as they swoop overhead. This educational presentation is appropriate for all ages. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
Food Truck Friday| 5 p.m. - 12 a.m. | Downtown Opelika
Spend your first and third Friday of every month, where you can enjoy dinner and drinks from downtown restaurants, bars, & breweries, and multiple food truck partners each week. Enjoy your brews, bites, and beautiful downtown Opelika. Check out the Opelika Chamber of Commerce on Facebook to find out who will be parked where, and what's on the menu!
AU Baseball vs Texas A&M | 1 p.m. + additional game | Plainsman Park
Keep that Auburn Spirit going by watching the AU Baseball team take on Texas A&M for their second and third games in the series at Plainsman Park! The first game will begin at 1:00 p.m. The second game on Friday will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the 1:00 p.m. game. The two games on Friday will complete the series which began on Thursday night. Tickets can be purchased here.
Underwater Egg Hunt | 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. | Opelika Sportsplex & Aquatics Center
Hunt for eggs in the Opelika SportsPlex pool and receive prizes for your efforts. Free swimming to follow. This event is for ages 6-10. Pre-register by April 4th, here!
SATURDAY
Auburn Azalea Festival | 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. | Auburn University's Donald E. Davis Arboretum
Come explore the SEC's oldest garden and take in the beauty of the arboretum's nationally recognized and accredited native azalea collection at this free event! The plant sale runs from 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., and will be your only opportunity to buy these plants native to the area! Arts & crafts and entertainment will run from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and is sure to be a good time for everyone, young and old!
Auburn's 43rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Kiesel Park
Auburn Parks and Recreation will host the 43rd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Kiesel Park from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The hunt is staggered by age group and starts at 10:15 a.m. The last group will begin their hunt at 11 a.m. This event is free to the public. Easter on the Square | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Courthouse Square
This is the largest egg hunt for ages 2nd grade and younger in the area! This event is also open to the public and free to participate. The schedule for the hunt is as follows:
10:00 a.m. - Toddler egg hunt
10:30 a.m. - 4-year-olds and Kindergarten egg hunt
11:00 a.m. - 1st-2nd grade egg hunt
Wing Fling | 10 a.m. | Auburn Raptor Center

Frank Thomas Statue Unveil | 10 a.m. | Plainsman Park
Additionally, Auburn will honor National Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Thomas with a statue unveiling ceremony at the exterior entrance of Plainsman Park on Saturday at 10 a.m. So, be sure to stop by early to catch the unveiling before heading over to the stadium for A-Day kickoff!
Tiger Walk | TBD | Donahue Drive
Each game day, including A-Day, the Tigers walk from the Athletics Complex down Donahue Drive to Jordan-Hare Stadium. The team doesn't make the walk alone, however; instead, they are cheered on by the thousands of Auburn fans who line the street and, in the process, create one of the greatest scenes in college football. Don’t miss out on your chance to cheer on the Tigers before each game!
Auburn Football A-Day Game Kickoff | 1 p.m. | Jordan-Hare Stadium
Plan your spring game festivities accordingly, Auburn fans, the moment you have all been waiting for, the A-Day game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. This is the first opportunity fans will have to get a look at the 2023 football team! Tickets for the scrimmage can be purchased here.
Easter Egg Hunt | 1 p.m. | Botanic
Join Botanic for lunch at The Grille restaurant with no reservations needed! Chef James is preparing a kid-friendly menu that the whole family will enjoy. Seating will be first come, first served. The egg hunt will start at 1:00 p.m. Sign-up will be the day-of and is first come first available. There will be two egg hunts divided by age group, so everyone has a chance to fill their basket!
SUNDAY
Easter Brunch | 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. | Botanic
Come enjoy an Easter Brunch at The Grille at Botanic! Reservations for the brunch have opened. To make reservations, call 334.748.9082 est. 1.
