Downtown Auburn's annual art walk returns on June 11

Mark your calendar for the SummerNight Downtown Art Walk in downtown Auburn coming up on Friday, June 11, from 6-10 p.m. This annual art festival is free to attend and features a diverse array of local and regional artists as well as live music, great food, and children's activities. Check out some of the artists you can expect to see at SummerNight!

Amanda Townsend Smith

Amanda Townsend Smith is a local art teacher and will bring a variety of works to the SummerNight Downtown Art Walk including original acrylic paintings, stickers, cups, and t-shirts created by her and her niece Emma. Her tent will also feature embroidered napkins and tea towels by Kim Pennisi.

Leslie Brasher

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, and now residing in the Auburn area, Leslie Brasher earned a degree in graphic design at Auburn University. Although she worked in graphic design for a number of years, she left her graphic design job to begin painting.

Leslie says she finds great enjoyment in painting with watercolors and loves to sketch or paint just about anything, but especially the beauty she sees around her. She enjoys painting nature from life – using fresh flowers as inspiration or sitting in a shady spot and painting the view before her. She loves to travel and paint, and her style is representational. Prints and cards of Leslie's popular designs will be available at the SummerNight Art Walk.

Lauren Duncan

Lauren Duncan marvels at the big and bold circles God has made in her life.  She was born outside of Auburn, AL where she lives today. She has loved creating from an early age-her when parents signed her up for art classes and bought her supplies to keep her busy. Currently, Lauren teaches art to small groups, helps run her family store, cultivates a creative community through The Local Market, and spends time in her studio. She prayerfully follows the Lord’s nudges to paint, write, and love on sweet foster babies. It is her hope and prayer that her words and brushstrokes would challenge & encourage others to ask what they were MADE TO CREATE!

Simplie Kimmie

Kimmie is originally from Opelika and is returning to SummerNight. She paints watercolor originals that range from custom house portraits to animals, to fruit and all between. Her designs include light and airy details as well as highlight the beauty of her subjects. She also teaches watercolor classes and even paints with acrylic from time to time.

Kudzu Hill Handmade

Kudzu Hill is an artisan soap and candle company based in Auburn, Alabama. Their soaps and candles are made with a handful of natural ingredients with simple designs. They pride themselves on using an earth-friendly approach and make their products with quality ingredients like natural essential oils and butters, soy wax, natural powders, micas, spices for colorants, natural exfoliates, and phthalate-free fragrance oils – none of the nasty stuff.

Kelly Oslick Illustrations

Kelly is an illustrator and her work includes both realism and abstraction. She specializes in two-dimensional media that draws inspiration from the natural world. Her work includes watercolor cards of local wild birds and modern fluid acrylic paintings, as well as hand-painted pendant jewelry. Each piece is carefully crafted and unique, and no two are exactly alike.

Shannon Jones Designs

Shannon Jones is an artist and self-taught jewelry designer who resides in Auburn, Alabama. Shannon draws inspiration from her surroundings and channels this into creating unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry. Some of her most popular pieces are stained glass tree pendants and hand-etched tree wine glasses, honoring the likeness of the famous Toomer’s Corner Live Oaks.
