ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, college football analyst, commentator, and fixture on ESPN’s “College Gameday,” has named The Hotel at Auburn University among the Best Hotels in his 2018 “Herbies.”

Each year, Herbstreit ranks his favorites from all aspects of college football – some related to teams and the game, some related to the town’s atmosphere and accommodations. Sports categories include Most Exciting Player, Breakout Star, Best-Kept Secret and Impact Head-Coaching Hires; atmosphere categories include Best Celebrity College Football Fan, Best Bands, Best Restaurants, and, yes – Best Hotel.

Herbstreit selected The Hotel at Auburn University in his top five hotels in all of college football. Rounding out the list are HotelRED in Madison, Wisconsin; The Graduate in Ann Arbor, Michigan; The Abernathy in Clemson, South Carolina; and The Atherton in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Hotel at Auburn University is the only hotel in the SEC selected for the list.

“It goes without saying that we love gameday on The Plains, but we especially love when the professionals from ESPN and ABC stay with us while in town,” said Hans van der Reijden, managing director of The Hotel at Auburn University. “To be named as one of Mr. Herbstreit’s top five favorite hotels is truly an honor, and we can’t wait to thank him in person this season.”
