Where to hear live music in Auburn-Opelika

Auburn-Opelika is full of great venues and artists. Want to see for yourself, but don't know where to start? No worries! We've compiled the best places to catch some live tunes around town for you. Check out our list of where to hear live music in Auburn-Opelika!

1. Noon Tunes - This free concert series takes place in the heart of downtown Opelika at the Courthouse Square and runs every Wednesday in May at noon. Bring the kids, coworkers, and your lawn chairs and enjoy lunch outside while experiencing some of the best local artists in the area. 2. Spring Sundown - Every Thursday night in May, you and your family can head over to Town Creek Park in Auburn for the Spring Sundown Concert Series. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. and go until 7:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for this free event. Kids can enjoy the free inflatables and Cybergame truck while adults can relax and enjoy the music. Vendors will also be on site for food options to purchase. 3. Summer Swing - Every Tuesday night beginning May 7 to the end of July, the Summer Swing Concert Series will be playing at Municipal Park in Opelika. Come early at 6:15 to enjoy free train rides and concession sales. The music begins at 7 p.m. Summer Swing is free to attend and a fun night for the whole family. 4. Piccolo - This lounge in the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center is home to live jazz performances every Friday and Saturday night from 8-11 p.m. A night in Piccolo with a cocktail and music would make a perfect date night or girls' night out. Kenny on the Keys and Kidd Blue make frequent appearances at Piccolo.

5. Standard Deluxe - Located in Waverly, Alabama, Standard Deluxe is home to the "Old 280 Boogie" in the spring and fall. This is an intimate venue where you can find some of the South's finest touring artists performing on any given day. Bring a lawn chair and check out their shows in The Yard or come hang out for a performance in the Little House, and don't forget to stop by before the show to eat in the Standard Deluxe Feed Shak. 6. Sundilla - The Sundilla Concert Series aims to bring touring artists and musicians from outside the area to Auburn for residents to enjoy in a small listening room experience. Sundilla is low-key, family-friendly, BYOB, and typically indoor. This is the longest-running concert series in the Auburn-Opelika area starting back in 1993. Sundilla hosts 12 concerts a year with at least two being held outdoors at Pebble Hill. Click here for a list of upcoming concerts at Sundilla.

7. Opelika Songwriter's Festival - This new festival held over Memorial Day Weekend will feature more than 30 singer-songwriters at various venues around downtown Opelika. Artists performing will vary from local acts to internationally touring performers. At this year's festival, you can hear artists like Grammy-winner Dan Navarro, Kate Campbell, Harpeth Rising, and more. 8. The Sound Wall Supper Club - This monthly gathering is a ticketed event where guests can experience live music and a meal prepared by a professional chef. Gather a group of friends to reserve the table or go to meet new people. Each month is a new chef and a new performer providing an experience you can't get anywhere else. 9. SummerNight Downtown Art Walk - This is a free, downtown entertainment district event that transforms Downtown Auburn into an arts district. Live musical entertainment will be performing and there's plenty of activities for the whole family. This year's SummerNight will be June 7, 2019.

10. Heart of Waverly BBQ - This rain or shine, ticketed event on July 13 provides guests with a live music experience at Standard Deluxe paired with barbecue, art, and farm vendors. This year, you can hear Channing Wilson, Cecil Allen Moore, Michelle Malone, Tony Brook, and Lew Card. 

11. Cheers on the Corner - Downtown Auburn becomes an entertainment district for this summertime event. You can enjoy live music on the corner while visiting the downtown merchants, browsing vendors, and sampling foods and wines. This year's Cheers on the Corner will be July 19, 2019, from 6-10 p.m.

12. Gogue Performing Arts Center - Also known as GPAC, the Gogue Performing Arts Center will host various shows and live music performances throughout the year. Artists like The Beach Boys, Allman Betts Band, and the Montrose Trio are set to perform at GPAC.
