Mark your calendars for the Auburn Opelika Running and Track Association’s (AORTA) 21st Annual Tough Ten/Tough Two race coming up on Saturday, October 23. The event is held in memory of Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Holler, a beloved community leader and an avid runner. Online registration is open until Tuesday, October 19. Same-day registration will be open the morning of October 23.

The race will begin and end at the corner of Ogletree Village in Auburn. Participants can register to run, jog or walk a scenic 10-mile or 2-mile route down Ogletree Road, into the Grove Hill neighborhood and returns to Ogletree Village.

In order to provide a safe race day experience for all participants, runners and spectators are asked to wear a mask to the start line and review the wave start schedule prior to race day. A disposable mask will be provided to runners at the finish line. Awards will be announced on the AORTA website after the race, winners will be contacted to accept their award. It is very important to include your contact information when registering for the event.

All proceeds will benefit the East Alabama Medical Center’s Foundation for Breast Cancer Early Detection. The Breast Cancer Early Detection Center serves to provide free mammogram screenings for women who are uninsured, as well as educate women in our community regarding the benefits of breast self-examination and annual screenings.
