Mark your calendars for Friday, June 9, from 6-10 p.m. and join us for a creative evening in downtown Auburn. SummerNight is a FREE, downtown entertainment district event. The SummerNight Downtown Art Walk, hosted by the City of Auburn, Auburn Arts Association, the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities and the Auburn Downtown Merchant Association is almost here!

An Artist Marketplace, a Honey Walk parade, live music, late-night shopping and dining with downtown merchants and children’s activities are just some of the fun activities SummerNight has to offer. In addition to all of the great activities, the community has the opportunity to participate in a Sweeter than Honey culinary contest. Entries are due June 8, 2017 from noon – 9 p.m. or Friday, June 9, 2017 from 8 a.m. – noon at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center. Winners will be announced at 7:15 p.m. on the SummerNight stage located at Toomer’s Corner.

SummerNight’s entertainment features the Electric Rangers. The Electric Rangers first performed together in Hawaii in 1980. Since its inception, the group has toured Asia, Hawaii, Alaska, Korea, Guam, the Philippines, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica. They have performed with the likes of Tennessee Ernie Ford, Little Jimmie Dickens, Loretta Lynn, Jack Greene and Ace Cannon. The group’s love of the classics and their commitment to honkytonk music make them and integral link from the music of the past and the contemporary trends of today.

We also welcome individuals, groups and organizations to come out and participate in our Honey Walk parade to kickoff SummerNight! We will begin with a starting line party at Pebble Hill featuring music and parade-themed crafts at 5 p.m. on Friday, walking to Toomer’s Corner at 6 p.m. to officially start the 11th Annual SummerNight Downtown Art Walk!
