Southern fine dining in beautiful Waverly, Alabama. Where the locals gather, and travelers feel at home.

The Waverly Local has been described as “seasonally inspired, simple southern fare amidst mid-century modern decor in a beautifully repurposed garage setting.” They currently have a revolving beer list featuring various local craft brews, wine by the glass or bottle, as well as a full-service bar. Various items on the menu include a daily gulf offering, half smoked chicken, bacon wrapped Wickle’s okra, blue crab cakes, and roasted ranch pork. The roasted ranch pork has been deemed as an item on the menu that is a “must-try,” served with butter bean dumplings, braised collards, tomato pudding, and braising ju. The menu comes from southern roots and has a variety of dishes, along with delicious appetizers, sides, and salads. There is something for every member of the family in this creative dining experience. As much as is feasible, the restaurant gets its produce from local growers, including tomatoes and squash from Mace Glasscock and collard greens from Andrew Lowery in Waverly, and cucumbers and lettuces from Ralf du Toit of Extreme Green Farms in Auburn.
