Join the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Team as an Intern!

Auburn-Opelika Tourism isn’t just a non-profit; we’re a team of passionate professionals dedicated to making every visitor’s experience unforgettable. Each semester, our communications & marketing team welcome 2-3 driven interns ready to dive into public relations, marketing, and communications. Interns should be able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work 15-40 hours per week, including occasional nights and weekends. A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting public relations materials such as news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, and creative content.
  • Attending partner meetings, event planning sessions, presentations, and brainstorming discussions.
  • Updating and managing databases for partners, events, and media contacts (includes data entry and corrections).
  • Assisting with the physical distribution of visitor materials (ability to lift 35 lbs required).

  • Supporting staff on partner and business development projects.
  • And, of course, being awesome!
